Our office team consists of one full time employed member of staff, our Prayer Spaces in Schools Coordinator. The rest of the team either volunteer their time or raise their own support to grow and develop BeSpace.
Catherine Clayton – CEO
Catherine is the co founder of BeSpace and our CEO. She took a year out of teaching in 2010, following a successful prayer space in the school she was teaching in, to see if prayer spaces could be developed across Oxfordshire and has steered the project to charity status and provided leadership and oversight since. Catherine is part of the National Prayer Space in Schools team and also works one day a week in a consultancy role with the Diocese of London to facilitate prayer spaces in schools across the Capital.
Mary Phillips – Prayer Spaces in Schools Coordinator
Mary is responsible for the coordination of prayer spaces across Oxfordshire. Her role encompasses modelling prayer space set up and delivery to local church teams and training and supporting them to run prayer spaces in their local schools. Mary has a background in Speech and Language Therapy Support and has worked with two charities in Uganda in a variety of supportive, teaching and mentoring roles.
Lucie Strange – Oxford City Support
Lucie provides support for churches in Oxford to see prayer spaces happen in their local schools. With a background in primary school teaching and RE coordination, Lucie also provides support to the team in producing activity resources and overseeing curriculum links and ways for schools to embed spirituality and prayer into school life.
