Purpose

The Head of Operations will provide operational leadership to ensure the charity operates effectively, compliantly, and sustainably in alignment with its mission and ethos. Working closely alongside the CEO, who leads on organisational vision and external growth, the role will play a key part in supporting the scaling of the organisation from a regional base to a nationally impactful charity, helping to develop and strengthen the infrastructure, systems, and delivery capability required for growth.

The postholder will contribute to embedding effective processes, accountability, and continuous improvement across operations, governance, people, and programme delivery, while playing a key role in strengthening organisational systems and ways of working to enable sustainable growth. We welcome applications from experienced operational leaders, including those who may previously have held more senior roles, and who are motivated by impact, flexibility, and the opportunity to help scale a mission-led organisation.

Work with us Operations Coordinator

We are looking for an Operations Coordinator to cover adoption leave, likely for one year. This is a vital role in keeping BeSpace running smoothly and enabling our small but growing team to thrive.

In this role, you will:

• Take responsibility for key operational processes including recruitment, HR, and volunteer management systems — not only maintaining them effectively but actively seeking ways to innovate and strengthen them, with guidance and
support from senior leaders.
• Manage finance administration, including donations, CRM (Beacon), and Gift Aid claims.
• Project manage BeSpace events and provide admin support to the team.
• Develop and maintain systems for impact tracking, GDPR compliance, and volunteer management.
• Provide communications and social media support.
• Where needed, support on-the-ground delivery of retreats and prayer and reflection spaces in schools.

This role would suit someone with strong organisational and administrative skills, a passion for children’s spiritual development, and a willingness to get stuck into a wide variety of tasks.

Role of an Area Networker

BeSpace Area Networkers champion the work of BeSpace in their local area. In a practical sense this includes some or all of the following:

  • Connecting with local Christians with the aim of building teams who lead prayer and reflection spaces.
  • Supporting churches to link with schools as needed to enable them to run the spaces.
  • Encouraging and celebrating local volunteers.
  • Being a point of contact for churches/ individuals locally who want to find out more
  • Hosting local Christians and school leaders in prayer spaces, so they can discover if this is something they may want to do.
  • Sharing about the work of BeSpace locally
  • Providing local training

The role will look different in different areas depending on the networkers capacity,  other commitments they may have, the ministry teams and the needs of the schools in the local area.
